Sex Idiot
By Bryony Kimmings
Contact Theatre, 2 March 2011
Whatever you expect from this show, you will be surprised.
Bryony Kimmings surveys her sexual history, explaining something about some of her previous boyfriends and expressing the essence of each relationship in a dance, song or skit. She hits herself on the head with a bunch of flowers and wears a Hitler moustache made from the audience’s pubic hair (probably best not to ask how or why just now, I think).
Towards the end, her journey changes its character rather and the show ends with a kind of cleansing ritual.
This show was funny, moving, entertaining, inventive, a little crazy – and it contained not a little transformative truth. You might say that it was like good sex itself.
Also, you got a badge at the end. So a result, and on more than one front.
Sex Idiot by Bryony Kimmings is at the Contact Theatre until 5 March. Some details are here.
