The Threepenny Opera
By Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill
RNCM Studio Theatre, 24 April 2014
Right from the moment when you hear the gaudy swagger of Mack the Knife, you know that all will go well. More than well.
And so it does: sterling performances from a talented cast, live music courtesy of the splendid orchestra present on stage, a convincing evocation of period, here Victorian London. It is curious that this city, above all others, should have exercised such a hold on Brecht’s imagination.
A vibrant production that continues again this afternoon and later tonight, further details here.
