A bleak, spare, dystopian fantasy.
He lives alone on a farm in a forest, the survivalist (Martin McCann), and then two women, Milja (Mia Goth) and Kathryn (Olwen Fouere), arrive. The women are allowed to stay, at a cost.
Food is scarce in this world, as is trust: human beings are feral and violent, the social order, always a fragile thing, has collapsed completely. And as the outside world intrudes increasingly on their pastoral home, the trio become involved in a drama of shifting alliances and callous, casual betrayal. The younger woman is attached to the man, who will be the father of her child.
Beckett meets Ballard.
